Double click on the AVG install on your desktop.
An open file-security warning will pop up. Click "run".
Welcome to the AVG free set up program. Click "next".
Acceptance notice. Click "accept".
Now we get a legal notice. read it if you want but you have to click "accept" to proceed.
Now it will check the system status. The next screen will have you select the installation type.
Leave it on "standard installation" and click "next".
The next screen is the license activation screen. Since it is pretty much meaningless because this is a free product, click "next".
The next screen will ask you if you want to install the AVG security toolbar.
Since I hate toolbars I uncheck this and click "next".

The next screen is the set up summary. Click "finish".
Now it is installing AVG.
After it is done installing. Click "OK".

Now that AVG is installed, we have to configure AVG on your computer. Click "next".
Now we are being asked when we would like AVG to automatically scan your computer for threats.
You can change the time of day if you want but I usually leave it at the defaults and click "next".

Now we are being asked if we want to provide info on threats from websites we visit.
I leave it unchecked and just click "next".
Now we are going to update AVG so we are protected from new threats. Click "next".
AVG will update itself .

When the update is finished it will say that the update is finished. Click "next" to procede.
The next screen ask if we want to register AVG. I don't so I just click "next".
Congratulations, click "finish" to be all done.
